ADDING INSULT TO INJURY

A burglary is bad.  Having to fight for your right to move to a safer site is worse.

The gloves and hijab are off; game on, my friends.

I raise my fist in the air, to and with you.

Is Peace Corps not wanting to move you? Hshuma 3lihum.

  3. Nicole says:

Peace Corps doesn’t want to approve a move to my souqtown on the grounds that “the Ministry of Health doesn’t consider it an appropriate site for health volunteers.” When I told them that I don’t want a site change – merely a move to a safer community – I was told that I could either stay in my site or move to a brand new site. My situation was then compared to a volunteer that left in the first month of her service because she was not happy with her placement, and it was verbally implied that I went behind Peace Corps’ back in finding a house in my souqtown on my own.

Frankly, fighting Peace Corps has been worse than being robbed.
