2011 SUCKS

Okay, I’ll admit it: the title of this post is a bit dramatic.

…but not as dramatic as you may think.

We’re merely 3.5 days into the new year and I’m already dealing with a handful of absurdities*.  Newly-resurrected passport issues (namely, that I still don’t have one), newly-formed bank account issues (nothing’s been deposited for this month), and suddenly-looming end-of-service stressors (like not having a job, or a house, or even a cell phone lined up) have all got me on edge in the first week of two-thousand eleven.

Some days, I wonder if four months is long enough to wrap up my life here.

Others – such as today – I wonder if I can last four more months here.

Without a passport, the decision to stay or go is much easier*.
